Well this weekend i was asked to photograph a 50th birthday fancy dress event. I have never photographed a event like this before and found it challenging. It was in a hall with a very low ceiling. It had a stage area a bar area and a well lit area. The lighting conditions were constantly changing and trying to balance ambient with flash was tricky.
Here are a few shots from the evening which i think have come out pretty well.
The event was held at Minster Royal British Legion, thanks to them for holding the event and making it a great evening and the band also performed flawlessly. They are a local band called Happy Daze if you want to find out more they have a facebook fan page.
Any hints or tips on this type of events photography please leave a comment on how you deal with the light and your preferred set up and settings etc. I look forward to hearing what others do. If you want to see all the images from the event then they can be found HERE
