Last night i decided to head out with my new strobist gear, the Godox Wistro AD360 bare bulb speedlite. I wanted to see how easy it was to set up and use on location. The unit is solid and far more transportable than a set of studio lights. It has 360 watt seconds of power and with the right trigger set can perform high speed sync.
The unit i mounted on a light boom stand with a Bowens S Mount adapter to which i added a four foot octabox. The octa was far more of a handful than the flash ! Once set i weighted it down with extra sandbag as we were shooting on the harbour wall and didn't want to see my gear disappear over the edge !
I wanted to keep the shutter speed at 200th of a sec to match the focal length i wanted to shoot at, took a ambient light reading in camera and set it to about one to two stops under exposed , i set my aperture to F/4.0 as this was what i wanted to achieve the shallow depth of field. I took a flash meter reading and adjusted the power until it read the F/4.0 i wanted and then shot away.
Here are a few more images from the evening .......
