Took a trip over to Margate tonight to try and capture the sunset, this turned out to be a bit of a non event really due to a large bank of cloud which blocked the setting sun. So i decided to stroll along to the newly re opened Dreamland Amusement Park . I wanted to capture the new signs on the building along with some light trails to mimic the neon signs around the building. I first tried the Lee Big Stopper a Ten Stop ND filter but this was giving me a two minute exposure time, this was a little to long and just seemed to burn the light trails out. I then turned to my Kood 0.9 3 Stop neutral density filter which gave me this 8 second exposure at ISO 100 F/16.
Love the new look Dreamland, very retro ! I am pleased they have done away with the entry fee and gone back to the free entry and pay per ride or purchase wristband, this was as it was when i was a kid. Sure this will help increase their visitor numbers.
They are also making great improvements all the time including now putting on live bands. I wish them every success in the future , it can only be good for Margate and the wider Thanet area.
