Ramsgate East Pier

Ramsgate Harbour

Took a walk down along Ramsgate harbour today and found myself walking around the East Pier towards the Lighthouse, i have only walked around this side of the harbour a couple of times before  but after seeing a image taken from this spot from a flickr contact ,Tony Matthews, i decided i wanted to do a mono version of this. The sky was not really playing ball today as it was a little to cloudy. Wanted to get a better sky but some things just cant be planned for. I will have to return again and have another go another day. Thanks to Tony for the inspiration.

The Scoop

The Scoop Took this on a recent trip to London, I have seen it outside of city hall many times but only recently did I realise it was actually a small amphitheatre!

The Scoop at More London is an outdoor sunken amphitheatre with seating for 800. Throughout the summer months it regularly hosts a variety of free events - from free films, free music and free theatre to local community events and activities. The Scoop at More London is open to everyone. ( taken from the Moore London Website )

I struggled with the very bright sky as the sun was just going down just behind the Shard, had to do a bit of photoshop work to get it at least acceptable and not totally blown out. Not perfect but I liked it.

The Shard

The Pinnacle I had to go to London on Friday as I am taking photographs for a work competition so while I was there I took the opportunity to take this image for myself. I took this from the end of  platform 4 at London Bridge Train Station. On arrival I went to Network Rail office and got their permission to take some images using my tripod. They issued me with a permit and I was good to go. The stunned silence of the security staff was brilliant when they approached me telling me " You need a permit to take pictures" When I produced one they were just stunned it was priceless !

This was taken on a tripod with a Lee Big Stopper for just over 60 sec exposure.
