Took a wonder down to the harbour tonight to try and photograph the Christmas light display . I have been the last couple of years and as yet i still cant find a composition i am happy with. Also trying to balance shutter speed and iso is a little tricky, push the shutter speed to much and the movement of the boats causes motion blur to higher ISO and the image is grainy.Read More
Its been a while since i managed to get some time for photography, been very busy after buying a house and now putting in a new Kitchen, but today i reached a point in the kitchen where i cant do anymore until the worktops go in so i headed off down to Ramsgate Harbour to see this years Christmas light display. I have tried to photograph this the last couple of years but always struggled to get decent weather and a calm sea but this year was better conditions than previous attempts.Read More
Have not been very active with the camera lately but decided to head down to the Royal Harbour area after work today as the weather was still very nice.
Grabbed my camera and a circular polariser filter. This really helps cut down on reflections and really makes the colours pop.
When the sun is shinning its a great place to relax in one of the many cafes and bars along the harbour and enjoy a refreshing drink, which is exactly what i did.
This week i was lucky enough to get out and help with a event taking place in Margate over several days and ending with performances at the Theatre Royal in Margate on Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th July 2014, Red Ladies have arrived !
There was a large group of identically dressed women who converged on Margate town on Wednesday 23rd July. They all made their way around Margate in small groups, stopping off to visit certain locations along the way. I had been assigned the three Ladies pictured here. They stopped off for afternoon tea at Lady Teslas Loose Leaves and Mud Tea Rooms. They sell a vast array of specialist tea leaves and also sell coffee and cakes, well worth a visit.
While the ladies are around the town they stop and perform a series of mysterious, visually arresting interventions before rendezvousing at Margate Theatre Royal to perform their ‘theatrical demonstration’ in five movements.
So if you are in and around Margate this weekend you could see the Red Ladies out and about.
