Today the so called Beast From The East arrived in thanet, it was a little disappointing or not depending on your point of view. It was more a dusting from Dusseldorf.
I had already packed my camera bag in preparation so i decided i would head out to see what i could find to shoot. I first headed down to Ramsgate Westcliff
The promenade was very deserted with only a few dog walkers, as you can see there is just a small dusting but the wind was bitter.
Down in the port was a ship being offloaded, its cargo was all new Cars , you can see being parked in lanes along the quayside.
I decided to get in the car and drive to the Eastcliff are and made my way around and through King George the 6th Park.
I had a walk around the park area and then back to the car and drove down to Broadstairs
By this time the Beast from the East was starting to melt so i decided to head home. I removed the Compact Flash card from the camera before i put it back in the camera bag. This is because i always want to get the images on the PC as soon as possible after getting in. As the weather was so cold you should not pull your camera out of the bag as soon as you get home as the difference in temperature could cause condensation to form , this is not good for the sensor , lenses or any part of the camera in general. You are supposed to leave it in the camera bag indoors to allow the tempreature to balence over time , by removing the card before i get home saves me having to wait !
